What They’RE
NOT TELLING YOU

Most shrimp sold in the US is imported, often farm-raised overseas. Ours is wild-caught off the Louisiana coast. Those imports are also putting responsible, generational Louisiana shrimpers out of business.

Shrimp Questions? We’re Here to Help

Are the shrimp peeled and deveined?

Of course, all processed by hand in a licensed facility.

How is the shrimp shipped?

By ground, in an insulated cooler with dry ice. We ship Monday–Tuesday (Wednesday for some closer areas) and boxes arrive frozen in 3–4 days.

Are your shrimp fresh or frozen?

Our shrimp are frozen the day they are caught and not defrosted until the customer decides to. Shrimp freeze incredibly well and don't take on any weird tastes or textures.

Are shrimp healthy?

Shrimp are little bundles of protein joy. They are very healthy and don't carry nearly as many minerals as fish or other shellfish.

What’s the best way to thaw the shrimp?

Keep the bag sealed and thaw it in a bowl or sink of cold water right before cooking, or in the refrigerator the night before.

Do frozen shrimp expire?

Likely not before you eat them all. Shrimp can last up to a year in a deep freezer.

How much shrimp is in a box?

Every box is large 16/20-count wild Louisiana shrimp in ½-lb bags of about 8–10 shrimp, enough for 1–2 people. The 5 lb box has 10 bags (about 10–15 servings) and the 8 lb box has 16 bags (about 16–24 servings).
